General Sports Book Rules

  1. BetMGM reserves the right to refuse any wager, prior to its acceptance.
  2. BetMGM will determine minimum and maximum wager amounts per patron on all events to include: all periods, segments, propositions, and future book wagers.  Maximum payouts limits shall only be established through limiting the amount wagered and cannot be applied to reduce a winning wager amount.  Minimum Wager:  $0.50.  Maximum Payout:  $10,000,000.00.
  3. BetMGM mobile wagering application displays real time-lines, current odds, and potential payouts when placing wagers. Patrons will be prompted with a confirmation message that selections are correct prior to the selection of the ‘place wagers’ button. Line change notifications may occur at any time during the wager placement process the system by default accepts higher odds and the player must acknowledge or decline any lower odds changes.  This setting can be adjusted by the player to accept all odds changes for fastest play or acknowledge all odds changes for a more conscientious play.
  4. For online wagers, if a patron made an inadvertent bet in patron's account dueto an error (e.g., inadvertent multiple identical bets), patron must inform BetMGM within 15 minutes of any bet patron placed for BetMGM to consider appropriate adjustments to be made to patron's account.
  5. Wagers accepted will not be able to be changed or voided by the patron upon confirmation of the successfully placed wager.
  6. BetMGM reserves the right to add, change or delete the payout ratio limits.
  7. There is no patron-initiated voids of any wager after the event has started.
  8. Wagers may be accepted at terms other than those displayed within the main sports book rules or individual sports wagering rules. Specific stipulations will be displayed within the inventory section of an event page.
  9. BetMGM reserve the right to add, change or delete the BetMGM TN Sports House Rules, subject to regulatory approval.
  10. BetMGM will not accept the past posting of wagers, in such cases the wager may be refunded, or where the outcome of the event is already known, in all such cases the wager will be refunded.
  11. BetMGM will accept wagers on currently posted terms unless otherwise posted. 
  12. BetMGM prohibits wagers on all high school and other amateur youth sporting events.
  13. BetMGM  will not accept wagers from Prohibited Participants including any individual (1) who is prohibited from wagering pursuant to Tennessee Code Annotated 4-49-101 et seq. (“the Code”); (2) who is on any self- exclusion list, SWC exclusion list, or Registry of Ineligible Bettors; (3) whose participation may undermine the integrity of the wagering or the Sporting Event; (4) who is excluded from wagering for any other good cause, or (5) any person who makes or attempts to make a Wager as an agent or proxy on behalf of another for compensation (i.e., messenger betting).  Individuals prohibited from wagering pursuant to the Code include:
    • Any member, officer, or employee of the council, board, or the SWC;
    • Any principal owner, partner, member of the board of directors, officer, or supervisory employee of BetMGM;
    • With respect to a vendor of BetMGM, any principal owner, partner, member of the board of directors, officer, or supervisory employee;
    • Any contractor, subcontractor, or consultant, or officer or employee of a contractor, subcontractor, or consultant, of BetMGM, if the person is directly involved in BetMGM's operation of sports wagering or the processing of sports wagering claims or payments through BetMGM’s online sports wagering platform;
    • Any person subject to a contract with the board if the contract contains a provision prohibiting the person from participating in sports wagering;
    • Any person with access to information that is known exclusively to a person who is prohibited from placing a wager in the state of Tennessee;
    • Any amateur or Olympic athlete if the wager is based on the sport or athletic event in which the athlete participates and that is overseen by the athlete's sports governing body;
    • Any professional athlete if the wager is based on any sport or athletic event overseen by the athlete's sports governing body;
    • Any owner or employee of a team, player, umpire or sports union personnel, or employee, referee, coach, or official of a sports governing body, if the wager is based on a sporting event overseen by the person's sports governing body;
    • Any trustee or regent of a governing board of a public or private institution of higher education;
    • Any member of an advisory board established under title 49, chapter 9, part 5;
    • Any person prohibited by the rules of a governing body of a collegiate sports team, league, or association from participating in sports wagering activities;
    • With respect to a student or an employee of a public or private institution of higher education, any person who has access to material non-public information concerning a student athlete or team, and tine information is relevant to the outcome of a sporting event; provided, that the person is only prohibited from using the information to place a wager on a collegiate sporting event; and
    • Any person having the ability to directly affect the outcome of a sporting event.
  14. Management will maintain a record of all point spreads, odds, race results, final scores and related betting proposition statistics and outcomes to protect both the patron and BetMGM in case of obvious mechanical or human error.
  15. BetMGM account holders are encouraged to contact Customer Care for additional wagering information, questions, and complaints of any such nature. BetMGM will investigate any issue and provide a timely response not to exceed ten (10) business days.
  16. Cancelled events that have either not started, or have not met the minimum length for an event to be official, will result in straight wagers being cancelled. Parlays that involve a cancelled event will reduce to the next lowest number of selections.
  17. The structuring of bets to avoid federal currency transactional reporting thresholds is prohibited.
  18. Wagers are subject to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) standards, including triggers and requirements for filing of Currency Transaction Reports and Suspicious Activity Reports.
